A long time ago, back in 1999, the first version of this fansite was created. It didn't have a name, but it had it's subject: Marilyn Monroe. Since I was a little girl, I loved the shining beauty of this wonderful woman, whom I never met nor did I live back in the day she was alive. And still, I was mesmerized by her appearance.

As I got more interested in webdesign and my skills were getting better, I decided to put my Marilyn Monroe fansite online in September 2003. I called it 'Untouched Beauty', after a quote from the photographer Bert Stern.

People were excited about the fansite and I got good feedback so I decided to continue. Layouts and content passed and I got more feedback of people.
In June 2004, I thought it was time for a change. I wanted a name renewel, something more connected to Marilyn. I picked 'Simply Marilyn'. Not very original because tons of websites were called 'Simply Britney' or 'Simply Ashlee', but back then I liked it. After only a couple of days after the relauch I got an email of a girl who told me her website was also called 'Simply Marilyn' and that I should take the website down. Unfamiliar with legal rights to this, I took the website down after almost a year (May 15, 2005), because too many people got confused with the two fansites.

In June 2005 I bought a domainname for my Marilyn Monroe fansite. I had always hosted the fansite on my personal domain, but as the website was growing and expanding, I thought it was time for a domain. I choose 'MarilynFan.org'. It's simple but it describes exactly what my fansite is: a Marilyn Fan website. I'm very happy with the domainname and I hope I can continue with the fansite for many more years.
